The following information provides parents with guidelines when making that important decision around which school their son or daughter will be attending in Grade 7.

CHOOSING A SCHOOL OTHER THAN YOUR HOME SCHOOL

OPTIONAL ATTENDANCE:

- Students are encouraged to attend their home school

- Designed for students with a strong passion/skill in a specific area of study

- Must use an “Optional Attendance Application Form” when applying to a school other than their home school

- Forms available at elementary school

May apply to:

2 regular schools
2 specialized schools or programs

Some schools are closed to students from outside their area.


Applications must be received by February 19,2010

Lottery if necessary held first week in March

Acceptance/Non-acceptance prior to March Break

Parents/Guardians inform requested school by
April 9,2010
